MSME Development & Facilitation (MSME - DFO) Ahmedabad, is the field office under Office of Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME, Government of India, established in the year 1954, to take care of the needs of MSME sector in the State of Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. MSME Development Institute is the field office of MSME-Development Organisation (MSME DO), headed by the Development Commissioner (MSME) under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. MSME DO is an apex body as well as the Nodal Agency for formulating, coordinating and monitoring the policies and programmes meant for promotion and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises throughout the country.
MSMEs are required to face new challenges. Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) has recognised the changed environment and is currently focusing on providing support in the fields of entrepreneurship & training, marketing, technology and infrastructure to MSMEs. Global trends and national developments have accentuated Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME)'s role as a catalyst of growth of MSMEs in the country. MSME is the growth engine, contributing 40 % industrial out-put of the country, 45 % exports from the country. MSME sector is the second largest employment provider after agriculture sector. Consequent to the increased globalization of the Indian economy.
The MSME – Development Institute, Ahmedabad and Branch MSME – Development Institutes at Silvassa and Rajkot, are providing a comprehensive range of facilities and services such as techno-managerial services, training needs, common facility workshop, statistical and economic information in the state of Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. This Institute has a team of dedicated and experienced officers of Indian Enterprise Development Services, Indian Statistical Service and Indian Economic Service . We offer spectrum of value added services in the areas of entrepreneurship, Managerial and Techno-economic related services to the MSME, prospective as well as existing. Apart from offering various consultancy and support services, the Institute also conducts Entrepreneurial, Technical and Managerial training programmes for the benefit of prospective and existing entrepreneurs.
MSME - Development Institute, Ahmedabad and its Br. Institute are maintaining close liaisons with State Government Departments and other agencies involved in the promotional and development activities of the State of Gujarat and Union Territory of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. It also works in close association with Chambers of Commerce & industries and industry associations in dissemination of information, creating awareness about the policy and programmes for the development of MSMEs, through organising seminars / workshops/ exhibition, etc .
